years ago. Ascot Park hosted a National TT
that Gary Scott won, taking full advantage
of some bad luck of Kenny Roberts... Tony
DiStefano and Marty Smith were the big
winners at the 250cc and 125cc Delta Inter-AMA Motocross
in Delta, Oregon... Cycle News tested the Husqvarna 360 CR GP
while comparing it to Heikki Mikkola's actual GP race bike. We said
the stocker was the "best Open-class bike in the world in stock
form."
We were so sure Doug Chandler was going to
win the Du Quoin Mile 40 years ago, we put
him on the cover. Bubba Shobert was the
actual winner, but the issue had already gone
to press... Broc Glover secured the 500cc MX
title at Broome-Tioga in New York, winning both motos to
earn his sixth career MX championship. Johnny O'Mara won
the 250cc class, and Ron Lechien took the 125cc class...
Scott Head triumphed in the 16th El Trial De Espana held
in Big Bear, California... Bader Manneh claimed the CMC
Western States MX Championship at the Fly-N LD Ranch
in Carmel Junction, Utah.
