VOLUME ISSUE JULY , P121 biased ADV tires. Its tread depth is shallower than some other tires, like the Motoz Rallz, so a full-sized ADV bike will wear through the tread fairly quickly if you like to twist the throttle often. The tread pattern is reversible, allowing you to get a little more mileage out of it. We've so far put 2500 miles on the pair and feel that the front has much more mileage left, while the rear is ready for replacement. We usually go through two rears for every front, and that's the case with these tires. After living with these tires for a while, we can confidently say that if you are looking for ADV tires that perform well both off-road and on paved roads, the Mitas Enduro Trail- XT+ is an excellent choice. Cycle News Staff List Price: Rear: $129.95-$184.95 Front: $103.95-$159.95 Website: https://www.mitas-moto.com TRAIL-XT+ TIRES years. Chris Birch, the former top hard enduro racer who has built a worldwide following for his ADV and Off-Road training, has also been a Mitas ambassador for several years. We've been impressed with Mitas ADV tires in the past and mounted a set of Enduro Trail-XT+ tires on a KTM 890 Adventure R. These tires are classified as 20% road and 80% off-road bias, making them suitable for individuals who spend more time in the dirt but still require decent road performance. Mitas offers the tire in a standard carcass and com- pound for typical ADV applications, and there's also an ultra-heavy-duty Dakar version in select sizes. We used the standard version. Just as with our previous experi- ence with Mitas tires, we were impressed with their quality. The wide bead works great for tubeless installation, but it also works well with tubes installed. Our primary evaluator has experi- ence with these tires and several oth- er brands and models. He said this is the best-performing front tire he's used in the dirt, providing predictable traction in various conditions and holding up nicely. Even after over 2500 miles, they still perform well. We used the standard 90/90-21 size but believe that the "fatty" 90/100-21 would also be a great option. The rear tire initially performed well in dirt, but the 890 quickly chewed it up, as we've seen with many other high-performance dirt- • Great off-road performance • Wide bead provides secure mounting if using tubeless mounting • Reversable tread pattern can get more miles out of the rear tire • Availability in most popular sizes • Great off-road performance • Like other high-performance ADV tires, the rear will wear quickly if you like to twist the throttle in the dirt Mitas' Enduro Trail-XT+ rear tire's performance is suitable for both street and off-road use, and its lifespan is comparable to that of most other similar brands when ridden aggressively.
