ROUND 5 / JULY 11-13, 2025 WEATHERTECH RACEWAY LAGUNA SECA / MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA ROAD RACE I MOTOAMERICA AMA/FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP P86 going on. I'm happy to get out of here with two wins and just to continue our progression." Herrin's 1-2-2 result sheet sees the current champion move a comfortable 31 points clear of Beaubier, 224 to 193, although Fong's double win means he's now well and truly part of the championship fight in third on 187. Motovation Supersport Strack Racing Yamaha's Blake Davis made it a perfect weekend in California with two perfectly ridden races, the teenager using racecraft beyond his years to better teammate and current Fong cleared off to a 0.99-of- a-second win. Herrin held off Beaubier for second, with Gagne and Escalante rounding out the top five. "I didn't think we were going to get the W for how I felt in the first few laps out there," Fong said. "The thing would just break loose out of nowhere. Right in the middle of the turn, you would just tip in, and the thing would just let go. [It was] worse in the second race, but the tem - peratures got up, so we kind of managed and just kept our roll speed. I knew the guys behind me for a little bit would be fight - ing it out and maybe slowing the pace up. I'm not sure what was Race three would be another disappointment for Kelly, his GSX-R1000 throwing its chain at the start of lap four and ending what was a frustrating weekend for the Floridian. Later that lap, Herrin sliced up the inside of Beaubier at the penultimate corner, a move Fong replicated at the same cor - ner a lap later to push Beaubier back into third. They remained that way for the next 10 laps until Fong dived down the inside of Herrin at the final corner to take the lead. Herrin sat up down the front straight and missed an opportunity to strike back, and from then it was game over as Herrin's (1) race-one win came after a massive crash on Friday, thoroughly bashing up the current number one.
