The AMA 125cc AMA National Motocross was held in Herman,
Nebraska, where Marty Smith took the win. The race also hosted
the opening round of the 250cc Inter-AMA Series, won by
Tony DiStefano.
Even though Randy Mamola won the race, we
ran a photo on the cover of runner-up Kenny
Roberts from Laguna Seca and the AMA
Camel Pro Series road race, the Champion Spark
Plug 200. We also had an interview with Roberts
who was racing again after a year oŠ... Johnny O'Mara
won the 250cc U.S. GP from Unadilla with 2-1 results. Bob
