RJ Hampshire continues to impress with another top-five finish, using two fourth-place results for fourth overall. "It was my best qualifying, and I felt good on the bike," Hampshire said. "I had a decent start in moto one, then worked my way up, and I felt like I had good speed in that one to finish P4. The second moto, it wasn't the best start, but I made some quick passes and put down some good laps to find myself in fourth again. Overall, it was my best day on a 450 so far." Before Spring Creek, the ISRT Kawasaki Team announced it had parted ways with Fredrik Noren, who did not suit up, nor did he compete at RedBud because of an injury... Red Bull KTM's Julien Beaumer was another no-show at Spring Creek. He hasn't been 100 per- cent since his crash at High Point, so with the advice from Beaumer's doctor, he and the team decided it was time for him to take a couple of races off, including next week's race at Washougal. Briefly... Chase Sexton was third best in both 450MX motos and earned his first podium of the season.
