"That one was tough," Hunter
said. "I had to fight for it since I
didn't get a great start. I'm hap-
py to do it [finish on the podium]
on

epic race, with epic fans. It was
a great day."

"Since Southwick, our bikes
have made a big improvement,"
Jett said. "I think that's also
helped unlock that extra speed.
I put my heart into that race.
I didn't get an ideal start and
made a silly mistake that made
it hard on myself."
Hunter Lawrence finished
second once again in the overall
standings. The Honda HRC
Progressive rider led early in
race one and pulled away from
the rest of the field thanks to
the increased pace set by his
brother, Jett. Hunter found a
steady rhythm and finished
another lonely second, setting
him up nicely for an overall
podium. Consistency paid off
again in the second moto, as
Hunter fought at the front, tak

ing advantage of mistakes from
other riders.
He dropped back
as far as fifth in the closing laps
but capitalized on errors by
Chase Sexton and Jorge Prado
to cross the line third, earning
him second overall. This marks
his third straight second-place
finish and moves him to second
in the moto, and I finished eighth. It
was a very rough day physically and
mentally, but my riding was good. I'm
going to get my knee checked out on
Monday to make sure that we are all
good."

7TH (2-19) 250MX
Levi Kitchen charged to second in
the first 250 moto, but troubles in
race two dropped him off the overall
podium. "I felt pretty good today," said
Kitchen. "Qualifying was decent, and
moto one went well for me. I went
down a couple times on the first lap
but still came back to finish second.
The second moto was on me. I got
impatient trying to make a pass early,
went down, got back up, and crashed
again. Then I made the mistake of
pulling into the mechanics area,
which cost even more time. I got back
out and ended up going down one
more time. I just blew it."
