sixth overall, ahead of Justin
Barcia, Malcolm Stewart, Coo-
per Webb and Harri Kullas.
As
for Eli Tomac, the former
champ had a tough day when his
bike started to smoke and then
finally quit while running third
after starting 10th. His first-moto
DNF meant he had a poor gate
pick for moto two, which resulted
in a 26th-place start. He made
it up to seventh by the time the
checkers came out.
It wasn't much better for
Tomac's teammate Cooper
Webb, who ran out of gas just
before the finish while running
10th in moto one.
Red Bull KTM's Aaron Pless
-
inger started the day with some
speed,
qualifying sixth and
running near the front of the
first moto before fading back to
sixth. Plessinger did not line up
for moto two after having devel-
oped a fever and was feeling too
ill to
compete.

his knee at High Point. They
are the only two riders to have
overall wins over the defending
champion, Haiden Deegan. Shi

the halfway point in moto one
but made a much earlier bid for
the top spot in race two. Shi
