VOLUME 62 ISSUE 26 JULY 1, 2025 P99 Scholtz repeated on Sunday, winning over Jacobsen. The wins, combined with champi- onship rival Jacobsen's two second-place finishes, saw Scholtz cut the championship points lead in half, and the two will head to the next round sepa - rated by just 10 points. Davis improved by one spot from Saturday to finish on the podium on Sunday, with the youngster passing BPR Racing's Teagg Hobbs on the last lap and beating him to the flag by 0.088 of a second. Those two were some three seconds ahead of Alexander, who was over 10 seconds ahead of Scott, who was running second prior to an off-track excursion. Altus Motorsports' Torin Collins ended up seventh, nip - ping Vesrah Racing's Japanese import Ryota Ogiwara. Altus Motorsports' Jake Lewis and 3D Motorsports' Alexander En - riquez rounded out the top 10. finishing 4.2 seconds ahead of Jacobsen, who had resigned himself to third before Scott crashed his Suzuki. A resilient Cameron Peters - en's mood shifted from dismay to elation as he fought through the pain of his injured shoulder to finish third on his Celtic/ Economy Lube+Tire/Warhorse HSBK Ducati Panigale V2 for his second podium of the season. To get on the podium, Peters - en had to pull off a last-lap pass on Strack Racing's Blake Davis, beating the teenager to the flag by 0.333 of a second. Jacobsen's teammate Kayla Yaakov finished fifth, with Scott remounting to take sixth. Altus Motorsports' Jake Lewis was close behind Scott and just ahead of BPR Racing Yamaha's Teagg Hobbs, who won a race- long battle with his teammate Josh Hayes. Corey Alexander finished 10th on the third of the Rahal Ducatis. Although the front lacked passes, the battle was filled with suspense as Scholtz led, while Scott and Rahal Ducati Moto with Xpel's Jacobsen pressed from behind. As Jacobsen faded slightly later in the race, it became a two-man contest that seemed it would go to the finish. However, with three laps remaining, Scott crashed his Suzuki GSX-R750 in the chicane, repeating Scholtz's earlier crash that had ended his Q2 session earlier that day. Riding a Yamaha YZF-R9 with a setup he was largely unfamil - iar with, since he had crashed early in Q2 and missed testing the team's latest configuration, Scholtz grabbed the holeshot from pole position (earned in Friday's Q1). He played it patiently, ensuring the motor - cycle was set up just right. It turned out to be good enough, as Scholtz went on to secure his third win of the season, Mathew Scholtz (1) cut PJ Jacobsen's (15) lead in the Supersport Championship in half after posting double wins.
