Haiden Deegan once again
dominated Saturday's racing
with an impressive 1-1 perfor-
mance. With his closest rival,
Chance
Hymas, out with a knee
injury, the defending champion
was pretty much in a league of
his own. To put it in perspective,
Deegan's qualifying time was
a full two seconds faster than
anyone else on track, and his
best lap in moto one was three
seconds faster than second
place. The number-one rider
went uncontested all day, secur-
eating a lot of roost and had my
work cut out for me. I
ran out of
tear-offs in moto two, so I had
to do a little bit of goggle wiping,
but the day went well. My riding
was good. I just needed to be
closer to the front, obviously, to
be in the battle for the podium."
"I was P5 overall today at
Southwick, which is definitely
a little bit better," Prado said. "I
had pretty good speed in prac-
tice, but I made a few mistakes
during
the motos that cost me a
podium. I think it was a decent
day overall."
RJ Hampshire's 8-4 bested
Aaron Plessinger's 4-8, and Coo-
per Webb's pair of sevenths was
only
good enough for eighth
the race and overall. He's still
second in the championship but
now trails Jett by 38 points.
"It's just Jett and Hunter rid-
ing better today," Tomac said.
"They
had an amazing flow on
the track, and I just needed to be
better out there. It wasn't what
I wanted to do today, but that's
how it goes sometimes."
Justin Cooper and Prado flip-
flopped results, with Cooper's
6-5 earning him fourth overall,
while Prado's 5-6 placed him
fifth.
"I felt like I rode well all day,
even though I definitely didn't
get off the gate today," Cooper
said. "I had to come through the
pack in both motos. So, I was
