VOLUME 62 ISSUE 23 JUNE 10, 2025 P85 territory in years gone by. And the riders sitting first and sec- ond in the championship made short work of this weekend, with Marc producing his most dominant weekend to date in factory red. After the relative struggles of Jerez and Silverstone over the past months, there was very little to give his rivals comfort here. Yes, his pole time was only two- tenths of a second faster than second (last year it was eight- tenths), and Alex Marquez had the temerity to lead the opening five laps of the Sprint. Yet, Marc topped every practice, qualifying and warm-up session, won the Sprint at a canter and led every lap of Sunday's feature race. His victory here one year ago was the first in 1043 days, a Morbidelli had little to offer in that fight either, with the rookie securing third with a move on lap nine. Fabio Di Giannantonio was sixth, Vinales seventh and Marco Bezzecchi an impressive eighth, having made up 12 posi - tions from 20th on the grid. SUNDAY MOTOGP RACE In truth, this result was in the offing from the eve of the GP. Aragon has been Marc Marquez A turn-one lunge on the sixth lap saw the lead change hands. From there, Marc coasted to a two-second triumph with the minimum of fuss. Francesco Bagnaia endured a torrid Sprint, suffering from a total lack of front-end feel, which dropped him to 12th. In his absence, Morbidelli, Acosta and Fermin Aldeguer vied for the final podium spot, with the KTM man accepting he had little for the Ducati threat on lap four when Aldeguer passed through. 53 DENIZ ONCU 1ST MOTO2 "This is how we do it!" said Moto2 winner Deniz Oncu after his dramatic last-turn win. "A very nice race. I tried to manage the tires but in the last eight laps, I knew I needed to push," Oncu said. "I also knew I was stron- ger in the final corner…but I'd finished the grip. I had to try. When the doors were closed, I thought, 'What do I have to lose? I'm second, just push and try the outside.'" MYOWNRACE Unlike his Sprint race start, Marc got the jump in the main Sunday GP and was never headed.
