Bou Wins Again in San Marino
S
an Marino hosted round five
of the FIM TrialGP World
Championship, June 7-8, with
Repsol Honda's Toni Bou winning
again. However, his teammate
Gabriel Marcelli captured his first
race win of his career on Sunday.
Despite a heavy fall during the
first race, Bou topped both races,
which are held twice each day.
Bou edged out Marcelli by just
two points, followed by champi
-
onship rival Jaime Busto on the
factory GasGas.
The battle for the win in race
two was even closer. Bou and
Busto were evenly matched on
points at the end of the day, but
Bou had more cleans than Busto,
giving Bou his second win. Mar
-
celli was close behind in third.
Bou was again the overall
winner on day two, but he shared
race wins with his teammate
Marcelli, who topped race one by
three points over Bou. Busto was
third, just three points back.
Bou bounced back with a domi
-
nant victory in race two, winning
by eight points over Marcelli, who
edged out Busto by a single point.
Bou continues to enjoy a com-
manding lead in the champion-
ship, 399 to Busto's 329. Mar-
celli is another 28 points back in
third. Beta's Matteo Grattarola
is a distant fourth, followed by
TRRS Factory Team's Aniol Gela-
bert.
