Jones Honda's Ashton Yates took seventh, followed by Bryce Kornbau (BPR Racing), Max Flinders (Thrashed Bike Rac- ing) and Danilo Lewis (Aftercare Scheibe Racing) completing the top 10. In race two, Herrin was chal- lenged early by Beaubier but quickly reclaimed the lead after an off-track moment in the chi- cane. The two ran in formation until Beaubier pushed the BMW too hard, losing the front at the Carousel (turns nine and 10) and crashed out with four laps remaining, ending his race and al- lowing Herrin to cruise to his 18th career Superbike win that puts him one ahead of MotoAmerica CEO and three-time 500cc World Champion Wayne Rainey and the late 2006 MotoGP World Cham- pion, Nicky Hayden. It would be Herrin who got the jump at the green light, and he led every lap of Saturday's open- ing Superbike race. He capital- ized on a late-race mistake from Beaubier at turn one and never looked back, though Bobby Fong (Attack Performance Progres- sive Yamaha) stayed close throughout. Herrin took the flag by 2.8 seconds. Beaubier rebounded from his mistake but fell into the clutches of Fong, who narrowly edged ahead for second by just nine- thousandths of a second. Fong's teammate Jake Gagne finished fourth, 21.5 seconds behind Herrin and ahead of Vision Wheel M4 Ecstar Su- zuki's Richie Escalante in fifth. Escalante had a lonely ride, with Real Steel Honda's Hayden Gil- lim 10 seconds back in sixth. ROUND 3 / MAY 30-JUNE 1, 2025 ROAD AMERICA / ELKHART LAKE, WISCONSIN ROAD RACE I MOTOAMERICA AMA/FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP P88 80 BOBBY FONG 2-2 SUPERBIKE "I was a little more disappointed with myself that I couldn't do the same pace (as race one)," Fong said on Sunday. "I lost the draft after the first lap and was just kind of a sitting duck. The crew has been working hard. It's cool to get two second-place points. I was a little far down in the points leading up to this round. It's good to move up in the points, and to keep the Yamaha on the podium is good." 1 TROY HERFOSS 4-1 KOTB "I hope Bradley [Smith] is okay," Her- foss said after his race-two contact with Smith. "We were racing super hard out there. That guy is hungry. He was like a dog with a bone. I closed the gap in the last turn. I thought when we went in there, I was a lot stronger than him in the day. This morning, I was seeing him as well. He ended up pushing a lot wider than me. I went for it, and he went for it. I really hope that's the way we can see it moving forward." MYOWNRACE
