Garcia, Verona Split EnduroGP of Spain Wins R ed Bull KTM Factory's Josep Garcia and GasGas Factory rider Andrea Verona shared day wins at the FIM EnduroGP of Spain, May 3-4. Garcia kicked things off by winning on Satur - day, and Verona finished out the weekend with Sunday's victory. Garcia thrilled the home crowd by getting off to a fast start on Saturday and built momentum throughout the day to take a commanding win by nearly two minutes over TM Moto's Zach Pichon. "I worked hard after the GP of Portugal to be ready for this race," said Garcia, who also won the Enduro1 class. "I felt I came into my home race prepared and ready to fight. I made some mistakes and some crashes, but overall it went well. It's incredible to race this close to my home, to win is amazing." "For me, it was a good day," said Pichon, who won the En - duro2 class. "I had some good times in the Enduro test. I knew Josep would be fast here, it's his home race. But I'm pleased with my performance. I hope to continue like this tomorrow." Verona felt like he was better than third. "Third overall is nice, but I think I could have fought for second if it wasn't for some mistakes," he said. "I know there's places to improve, so I will aim to do that tomorrow." Sherco riders Hamish Mac - Donald, the Enduro3-class win- ner, and Antoine Magain com- pleted the top five overall. Verona proved he was indeed capable of better on day two after a dramatic late charge saw the Italian take the day's overall victory by less than two seconds over Garcia.
