mistakes hindered nearly every-
one on the track.
Points leader Kay de Wolf
fell while running second and
eventually came home in third.
Finally, Coenen found himself
stuck in the mud late in the race,
which allowed Saturday's win
-
ner, Adamo, to sneak by for the
win. The KTM rider led Simon
Laengenfelder and de Wolf to
the line. Conditions looked much
better for race two as the track
crew prepped almost all of the
rain-soaked track. Laengenfelder
shot out to the early lead but fell
on lap one and had his work cut
out for him.
After Laengenfelder's crash,
the two front-runners from race
one, Coenen and Adamo, once
again found themselves at the
front. By the halfway mark,
Adamo made his bid for the lead
and passed his KTM teammate
for the top spot. He crossed
the line four seconds clear of
second place and achieved 1-1
wins to sweep the weekend. The
win also saw him gain crucial
points in the championship, now
third and only 10 points back
from the leader. De Wolf's pair of
thirds earned him second on the
day and allowed him to maintain
control of the red plate.
Laengenfelder made his
way to fourth in race two and
rounded out the overall podium
in third. He sits second in the
championship, four points be
-
hind de Wolf.
"I rode really well this week-
end," said Adamo. "It was
amazing, no mistakes, and the
starts were strong, especially
yesterday. That put me in a good
position for today, which was im
-
portant because the conditions,
especially in the first race, were
wild. The second one wasn't as
bad, but still tricky. To go 1-1-1
for the first time in my career is
just incredible. I'm super happy
with the result."
