stages, battling with Stewart
and finding themselves racing
up to Webb in second place.

five after accidentally placing his
bike in second gear rather than
first for the higher elevation.
"I actually put it in second
gear on the gate when the board
went sideways," Cooper said.
"We're starting in first gear all
day, so it was just a habit. I pan

jeopardized his podium posi-
tion. Webb stayed calm and
held off his charging Yamaha
stablemate to take second at
the line. In the process, he lost
three points to Sexton but still
maintains a nine-point cushion
with one round remaining.
"I was just trying to go as
hard as I could for as long as I
could," Webb said. "At the end
there, I was really holding on
and expecting a fight. I was

settled for a safe second. He still
leads by nine points going into the
450SX season finale.
