Hampshire looked like he was
in the hunt on Saturday night,
but a crash while running third
dropped him one position off
Birmingham winner back to sec

ond. Thrasher stayed close but
could
not retaliate and finished
just over a second behind Vialle
at the line. Another podium
finish puts Thrasher fourth in
points, 14 back from the leader.
With one round remaining, he's
likely just to miss the top three
overall.
"I was just trying to execute
up front," Thrasher said. "I knew
they were there. I kind of pulled
away in the middle part of the
race there, then we got into
lappers, and it kind of yo-yoed.
He [Vialle] started closing in a
little bit. I was trying to hit the
whoops as good as I could, and
the rest of the track, I couldn't
tell where he was catching me.
When he got around me, I spun
out before the on-on-off, and
he was hitting that inside up at
the top. He got quite a bit closer
there and was able to make the
pass."
Max Vohland had the best
night of his career, taking a heat
race win and scoring his first-
ever podium in the main event.
The Muc-Off/FXR/Club MX
Yamaha rider started up front
with the early leaders, battling
for a podium from the get-go.
Halfway through, Vohland found
himself shuffled back to fourth
but later regained the spot once
Hampshire crashed out of third.
Vohland's podium seems even
more impressive because his
bike is outfitted with a hand-
brake system for the rear brake
due to an injury to his foot. This
is his season-best finish and
puts him seventh in the champi
