Oliveira Tops Pala NGPC
L
iqui Moly Beta's Dare DeMar-
tile tried every trick he could
think of for 90 minutes but
ultimately had to accept second
place behind FMF KTM Fac-
tory Off-Road Racing Team ace
Dante Oliveira at the Sunland
Shamrocks Motorcycle Club's
Fox Raceway Grand Prix, round
five of the Rocky Mountain ATV/
MC AMA National Grand Prix
Championship (NGPC) Series,
Presented by FMF, April 26-27.
Rarely more than a couple
seconds apart all afternoon,
five-time series champ Oliveira
kept DeMartile at bay, though
the Beta charger drew even a
couple times, officially finish
-
ing two seconds behind at the
checkers, while Pro Circuit/
Precision Coatings Kawasaki
rider Giacomo Redondi—who ran
a close second in the first half
hour—earned third at the end, 11
seconds behind DeMartile.
"It was quite the race! I was
very excited, and I was just try
-
ing to keep it calm and mellow
and hit my marks and hopefully
get around him," the Bridge-
stone/Acerbis/FXR 480 RR rider
said. "It was a great race, and
I learned a lot from it, and I'm
excited to come out swinging for
the next one."

Dante Oliveira couldn't
shake Dare DeMartile, who
hounded the five-time and
reigning series champ
all afternoon. However,
DeMartile had to settle
for a hard-fought runner-
up spot by two seconds.
