Lane Splitting In Oregon?
M
aybe. Oregon House Bill 3542
would allow the operator of a
motorcycle to overtake and pass
another vehicle in the same lane if
traffic is stopped or has slowed to
a speed of 10 miles per hour or less
and the operator of the motorcycle
is traveling no more than 10 miles
per hour over the speed of traffic. It
requires the operator of a motorcy
-
cle to merge with the regular traffic
flow when traffic begins traveling
at a speed of more than 10 miles
per hour and would only be allowed
when operating the motorcycle on a
highway for which the speed limit is
50 miles per hour or higher.

bill.

Martin Discharged From Hospital
J
orge Martin has been dis-
charged from the hospital in
Doha, Qatar, but is facing another
lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The reigning World Champion
crashed at over 100 mph before
being hit by Fabio Di Giannanto
-
nio in the season's fourth GP in
Qatar. After complaining of in-
tense pain, Martin was rushed to
the Al Hamad General Hospital in
Doha, where he was diagnosed
with up to 11 fractures in his
right ribs and a collapsed lung.
"Jorge will remain in Qatar for
a few more days until his medi
-
cal condition stabilizes," read a
statement released by Aprilia
during Easter weekend. "As
soon as his condition allows, an
assisted flight will be organized
to return to Europe."
"We've been really lucky,"
admitted a visibly shaken Di
Giannantonio after the incident.
"I didn't have any chance to go
anywhere, so I touched him. I
was really scared. That's why
I stopped at his box [after the
race]. I wanted to know from his
team that he was relatively okay."

begins.
