obstacles with Webb as the an-
nouncer. After the E-Bike race,
the Moab Hard Enduro invited
the top 20 Prologue finishers
to compete in a cash-paying
Shootout at their main-event
area, resembling a natural terrain
skatepark for hard enduro. Four
groups of five riders battled it
out in front of cheering specta

tors, tackling big splatters and
navigating the sandstone course.
Ultimately, Webb triumphed in
the final race of the Shootout,
earning him starting-row priority
for Saturday's main race.
On the second day, the main
race involved a three-lap course
with a six-hour time limit, fea
-
turing multiple splits and more
challenging sections added on
laps two and three. The green
flag dropped, and the rows of
riders took off with one-minute
intervals between them. During
the first checkpoint, the six lead
-
ing riders were only 20 seconds
apart, setting the stage for a very
close race. After lap one, Hart
was leading Riordan and Webb
by 30 seconds.
Lap two brought more excite

ment and changes in the lead as
Amateurs navigated their first lap,
creating some lapped traffic for
the front-runners. By the end of
the second lap, the racers faced
Black Flag, a treacherous canyon
that introduced a mile of steep
hills and large boulder canyons.
The lead changed hands multiple
times during lap two, but it was
Webb who entered his third lap
just six seconds ahead of Hart.
The lead traded back and forth
a couple more times in the third
lap, with Webb and Hart engaged
in a fierce battle through even
more traffic.
On lap three, Black Flag
revealed a final gate that sent
racers up the steepest and most
perilous section of the course.
Webb entered Black Flag with a
90-second lead on Hart, but Hart
made a strong effort and was
right behind Webb at the last
