Bou Dominates in Portugal
R
epsol Honda HRC's Toni Bou
dominated the second round
of the FIM TrialGP Champion-
ship in Portugal, April 12-13.
Bou won all four races (two on
Saturday and two on Sunday) to
extend his lead in the Champion-
ship.
On day one, Bou battled Gas-
Gas' Jaime Busto for top honors,
with Busto settling for second in
both races. Beta's Matteo Grat-
tarola was third in race one, with
TRRS's Aniol Gelabert taking that
spot in race two.
"I'm very happy with how the
day went," Bou said. "We com-
peted under very complicated
regulations that require us to be
very attentive, and we managed
to score the maximum number
of points. It's not like that every
day, so we have to enjoy every
victory. These are very important
points for the championship,
plus the three extra points from
the Power Section. We were
solid until the end."
Sunday's race one was a
tough one for Bou, who got off
to a slow start with a couple of
fives. He regrouped and came
back strong, narrowly defeating
Busto for the win. Bou's team-
mate Gabriel Marcelli was third.
Bou dominated the fourth
and final race of the weekend,
with Grattarola this time taking
second just ahead of Busto.
After two rounds, Bou has al-
ready pulled out to a comfortable
lead in the championship with
160 points to Busto's 138. Mar-
celli is third with 114 points.
