VOLUME 62 ISSUE 13 APRIL 1, 2025 P71 two riders battled mistakes and soft conditions for the win. In both instances, Webb emerged victorious in the closing stages of the race. He regained addi- tional championship points and now leads by 11. "Once I got around Ken, I final- ly just took a breath and started really upping the pace to try and match Chase's speed," Webb said. "The last half I feel like we were really pushing the pace. It kind of getting held up, but it was hard to make passes. Chase got us both at that time, and for me, I knew it was time to go." The key moment of the race arrived as both riders made simultaneous mistakes with two laps remaining. Webb rebounded quicker and tripled past Sexton in the next rhythm lane, main- taining the lead through to the finish. This plotline felt eerily like Seattle 2024, where the same 51 JUSTIN BARCIA 8TH 450SX Justin Barcia crashed in the main but remounted for a top 10. "I was dicing with the front-runners and cross-rutted a little bit, casing a jump really hard, which made me lose a lot of positions and put me well back," Barcia said. "It was a disappointing night for me in the end, as I was in a good position to score a solid result, so it was frustrating." 32 JUSTIN COOPER 6TH 450SX "It was a good day," said Justin Coo- per. "I qualified first and got my first heat win of my career in this class, so that was special. I just felt like I clicked with the track. I don't know if that was just me progressing or if I just felt that good on this track, but it was definitely working well for me. I was in a good spot in the main—third and fourth for most of it. I got around Kenny and got into the podium spot with around four minutes left, and that's pretty much when I crashed. That was unfortunate, but that's how it goes." MYOWNRACE
