Campbell Wins Sonora Rally P reston Campbell captured the overall motorcycle vic- tory at the five-stage Sonora Rally, which began on March 16 and ended on the 21st. In his first Sonora Rally race, riding a Honda CRF450RX Ral - ly, Campbell got off to a swift start, winning the first three of five stages in the nearly 780- mile race. He was second in the final two stages to defend - ing champion Brendan Crow. "I had a great time and fun week at my first rally competi - tion, learning a new style of racing with new landscapes and navigation," Campbell said. "My favorite parts were all the sandy two-tracks and huge dunes we had to climb. The CRF450RX Rally equipped with Pirelli/Metzler Rally tires worked great and was fun to ride all week. Rally racing is so fun, I loved hanging out in the bivouac after the stage and talking to all the other riders. I want to thank JCR/Honda, Geoff Hill at Baja Bound Insur - ance, my support crew Hide Hanawa, Kendall Norman and, of course, my navigation coach, Jimmy Lewis. The NATC Trialstore National Series is America's premier competition and fea - tures the country's top professional and amateur riders in the sport of MotoTrials. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Fri, April 11 Youth Trial 1 p.m. Sat, April 12 Round 3 (all riders) 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Sat, April 12 Youth Trial 10 a.m. Sat, April 12 Pro Shootout 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Sun, April 13 Round 4 (all riders) 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. The event, spread over three days, will fea- ture a youth exhibition event, full competition rounds on Saturday and Sunday, and a Pro-only Shootout on Saturday afternoon. The Shootout will feature the top American Pro riders com - peting on specially designated, highly technical, Pro-only obstacle sections. "I'm excited to bring my experience as a for- mer professional trials rider to the organization of rounds three and four of the NATC National MotoTrials Championship at MotoVentures this April," said event organizer Daniel Blanc- Gonnet.
