P122 Cycle News took April Fool's to a new level 50 years ago with some head-scratching cover lines and just plain weird articles found inside, not to mention the cover photo... Ascot Park hosted the Pacific Coast Regional Championship TT. Eddie Mulder went home with the championship trophy... Jack Johnson and co-rider Mark Mason won the Mint 400 and were joined on the podium by the runner-up team of Rolf Tibblin and Mitch Mayes and the duo of Scot Harden and Max Switzer. Our KTM 125MX test bike was pictured in action from DeAnza Raceway 40 years ago... We interviewed Danny "Magoo" Chandler. The next day, he was heading to Europe to compete in the 500cc MX World Championship on a KTM. "I'm gonna be World Champion this year!" he said... We previewed the 1985 World Championship season, which featured new Rothmans Honda teammates Randy Mamola and Freddie Spencer... Scott Head won the ATA St. Patrick's Day Observed Trials in Texas Canyon, California. Our KTM 125MX from DeAnza Raceway 40 years ago...
