was able to control the pace and
get the job done."
The two Factory Fantic ma-
chines of Glenn Coldenhoff and
Andrea Bonacrosi battled to the
finish line in race two. Colden-
hoff stalled his bike on the final
lap and allowed his teammate
Bonacorsi to slide through for
second. Still, 4-3 finishes gave
Coldenhoff second overall, with
Bonacorsi earning third for his
first-ever MXGP overall podium.
MX2
The MX2 riders saw the worst
conditions of the weekend. Hon
-
da's Ferruccio Zanchi managed
to steal the holeshot and took
off with the early lead. Nestaan
Husqvarna's Liam Everts slot
-
ted into second with teammate
and current points leader Kay de
Wolf moving to third in the early
laps. Zanchi looked comfort
-
able out front and opened up an
11-second gap over Everts in
second. The Honda rider cruised
to the opening win, claiming his
first-ever race win in the process.
Everts held on for second, while
de Wolf crashed in the final laps
and lost his shot at the leaders.
He settled for third.
Race two greeted racers with a
drier track. Everts took the advan
-
tage from the start and grabbed
the holeshot. The Husqvarna rider
made it look easy on the demand
-
ing course and ran away with the
lead and the eventual race win.
2-1 finishes gave him the overall
win for the day and bumped him
to second in the series points, just
six behind de Wolf.
"I'm absolutely speechless,"
Everts said. "Just six months
ago, I was sitting on the couch,
not knowing if I would ever race
again. But I worked hard for this
moment—I didn't do it alone, and
I'm grateful for the people who
supported me along the way. It's
incredible to achieve this with
my new team, and having our
boss here to see us go one-two
makes it even more special."
De Wolf kept it under control in
the second moto to earn second
at the line. A 3-2 result put him
second overall as he continues to
lead the championship points.
Andrea Adamo crossed the
line third in moto two, but Zanchi
still earned third overall with 1-10
finishes. This marked the Ital
-
ian's first overall podium.
