Circuit Kawasaki rider grabbed a
podium last weekend in Daytona
and carried that momentum into
this weekend's Showdown. He
easily led every lap of the 250SX
East/West main event and
proved to be the fastest rider
from either coast for the week

end. This marks only his second
career main-event
win, the last
one coming at Arlington in 2021.
Hammaker's training with the
Lawrence brothers is clearly
paying off as he jumps to third
in the 250SX East Coast points
standings.
"It's been a while since I've
even stood on the top step of

with 167.
250SX Showdown
The first 250SX East/West
Showdown of the year took place
in Indianapolis, with the best
from each coast facing off in a
combined main event. Despite
having both points leaders on the
gate, it was Seth Hammaker who
notched his first win of the year.
Hammaker is now the eighth
different 250-class winner in
nine rounds (East and West) this
Tampa winner Malcolm Stew

art won his heat race and later
finished sixth in
the main event
ahead of Ken Roczen and Dylan
Ferrandis. Justin Hill and Shane
McElrath completed the top 10.
The Daytona winner, Roczen,
was hoping to ride his winning
momentum into Indy and get
back into the championship
battle but instead spent the
main event trying to make up
for a bad start. The Suzuki rider
was 14th after the first lap and
then clawed and scratched his
way to a disappointing seventh.
As it stands now, Webb
enjoys a modest 15-point lead
over Sexton in the champion
