Kawasaki Issues Recall on 2025 KX450 Models K awasaki announced an im- mediate "stop sale notice" to dealers regarding the 2025 KX450, 450X and 450SR models, citing the surface durability of the primary gear. A statement from Kawasaki reveals, "On certain eligible units, the surface durability of the primary gear for the crankshaft may be insufficient. Continuous use in this condition may result in failure of the primary gear." Kawasaki expects to issue repair information to dealers by mid-April. Owners of eligible units will be notified to contact an authorized Kawasaki dealer - ship to schedule an appointment for the necessary repairs. Deal- ers are encouraged to immedi- ately discontinue sales of 2025 KX450 models and submit the required product registrations for eligible units. CN WIND IN THE P64 Kawasaki has issued an immediate "stop sale notice" on all 2025 KX450, 450X and 450SR models. Honda Issues Recall H onda has issued a recall on certain 2024 CBR650R and CB650R motorcycles. This issue involves the shift lever that could fall off while riding. According to Honda: "Due to improper paint application to the gear-change arm, the fas - teners of the gear-change arm to the stroke- sensor assembly may loosen and fall off. If the fasteners fall off, the rider will be unable to shift gears while riding. "If the rider is unable to shift gears while rid- ing, the risk of a crash or injury is increased." The fault lies in the paint. Honda says, "The paint thickness of the gear-change arm was improperly applied after production changed from Japan to a supplier in Thailand, resulting in an excessively thick coating. Due to the increased paint thickness, the parallelism of the gear-change arm surface can deteriorate, potentially resulting in an insufficient axial force and loosening of the nut and bolt fastening the gear-change arm to the stroke-sensor assembly." Honda did not supply VINs for the motorcycles involved but did share their build dates. All of the affected motorcycles were manufactured between June 7, 2024, and July 18, 2024. Honda is asking registered owners to take their motorcycles to an authorized Honda Powersports Dealer, and the dealer will replace the gear-change arm with an improved part. Honda has already notified its dealers. Owner notification will begin and end on or about April 21, 2025. CN Certain 2024 Honda CBR650 and CB650R motorcycles have been recalled for shift levers that could fall off.
