Team Hammer, Suzuki Sign Max Van S uzuki Motor USA, LLC, in partnership with Team Ham- mer, Inc., is pleased to announce it has signed Max VanDenBrouck to compete in MotoAmerica Su - persport aboard a Vision Wheel M4 Ecstar Suzuki GSX-R750 for the 2025 MotoAmerica AMA/ FIM North American Road Racing season. Hailing from Shelby, Michigan, "Max Van," as he is commonly re - ferred to, was one of the leading figures in Junior Cup action dur- ing a three-year stint from 2022 to 2024. Van graduated from the Junior category following the '24 season with three wins and nine podiums to his name. He stepped up to the Supersport class last season aboard a Team Hammer-built and -supported GSX- R750, where he earned five top 10 results, four in the season's final five races, en route to a 13th-place championship debut. Van, who has developed under the guidance of Josh Hayes, will join Tyler Scott in the factory- backed Vision Wheel M4 Ecstar Suzuki outfit. "I'm very excited for this oppor - tunity," said Van. "To be associ- ated with Suzuki and to race for a team that has been competing for 45 years is something huge. My family's business, Sportbiketrack - gear.com, has sponsored racing and being around the track helped me decide racing is what I wanted to do. My first year in AMA Pro Supersport was a success, and I learned a lot. I picked up the pace against a stacked field in the sec - ond half, and it got me noticed. I'm looking forward to continuing to improve this season." Chris Ulrich, Team Hammer Vice President of Operations, said, "Max showed steady prog - ress during his first MotoAmerica Supersport season. He steadily improved and was fighting well within the top 10 by the end of the season. He's another young American talent we have helped develop and look forward to see - ing what he can do in his sopho- more season." CN VOLUME ISSUE MARCH , P33 Circuito de Jerez Damaged by Flood L ast week, the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto was heavily damaged by an intense rainstorm that caused ma- jor problems for the city and the racing circuit, causing concern about next month's Spanish Grand Prix. However, according to the circuit's website, the MotoGP round scheduled for April 25-27 will proceed as planned. The facility reported, "For the peace of mind of the fans, the Jerez Circuit guarantees that the Spanish Grand Prix will be held as scheduled for April 25 to 27, and only the activity closest to these days will be affected by the clean - ing and damage repair work." According to the website, more than 120 liters per square meter fell in the area on March 3 in less than half an hour, which caused an intense concentration of water at some points of the circuit, especially in the curves near the Arroyo del Gato. Turns seven, eight and 11 were flooded with water, mud and gravel in the run-off areas. However, the area most damaged by the flood was turn 13, Jorge Lorenzo curve, specifically the asphalted run-off located on its right bank, and will need to be re - paired. CN The Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto circuit is in need of major clean-up and repair after flooding. Max Van will race alongside teammate Tyler Scott for Team Hammer in the upcoming MotoAmerica Supersport Championship.
