M
otoGP kicked off its season opener for the
first time in Thailand in suffocating heat at the
Chang International Circuit, but it may as well
have been 2019 by the way Marc Marquez (Ducati
Lenovo Team) took a proverbial machete to the field.
Marquez threw it back to the days when it seemed
everyone else woke up wondering who was going to
get second as the eight-time World Champion took
pole position, the Sprint Race win, and the Sunday GP
victory in a stunning debut in Ducati red.
Like Marquez, Manuel Gonzalez (Liqui Moly Dyna
-
volt Intact GP) was equally dominant in Moto2 with
pole and a seemingly comfortable win, his first in fully
dry conditions.
