against Hampshire, and the
restart did him no favors either.
Vialle is still second in points
and on an upward trajectory in
terms of results.
"I was close with the leaders
tonight. We were going back
and forth, but the track was
super tricky," Vialle said. "If you
missed a rhythm, you'd lose a
second or two pretty easily. I
two weeks and found a setting
that made me comfortable. I
felt good as soon as my wheels
hit the dirt. I gelled with the
track all day and led 90 percent
of the main event, which was
awesome for us. We're back on
track."
Vialle crossed the line for a
close second-place finish, his
best result at Daytona. Vialle
started up front with a crucial
holeshot despite contact from
crashing while chasing down
Hampshire. After the restart,
Hampshire went uncontested
for the lead, beating the defend
-
ing East Coast champ Tom
Vialle
by just over two seconds.
The win moves Hampshire to
fourth in the championship
standings.
"I knew I would get stronger
as the season progressed,"
Hampshire said. "We worked
hard with the team over the last
