Haiden Deegan who took the
overall win and possession of
the points lead.
Deegan is back with a ven-
geance. The Monster Energy Star
Racing Yamaha
rider was picked
as the preseason favorite but
only had one win to his credit this
season and had yet to lead the
overall points before the Texas
round. Deegan is openly back on
the team's training program and
is hell-bent on winning his first
Supercross title. The proof is in
the pudding, as Deegan convinc
-
ingly ran down the leaders in
both
of the first two main events.
With 1-1 on the board, his results
set him up nicely for the night's
overall win. A second-place finish
Justin Hill set the fastest
qualifying lap before later finish-
ing fifth on the night. Justin Bar-
cia claimed sixth overall ahead
of
Aaron Plessinger and Dylan
Ferrandis. Malcolm Stewart and
Joey Savatgy rounded out the
top 10.
250SX West
The 250SX West riders took to
the Arlington track for the fifth
round of their regional champi
-
onship. Red Bull KTM's Julien
Beaumer
led the way with the
red plate, but it was main rival
win. Yes, I knew I had the overall
by staying where I was, but I
didn't really care; I wanted to win
the race. I'm excited to get on
the plane out of here and leave
that performance in Dallas. I've
been grinding pretty hard over
the last couple of weeks, and
maybe it's time to hit the reset,
as it's three weeks in a row of
these costly mistakes. Really
frustrating, although it's only
round seven, [there is] plenty
more time to fight for this cham
-
pionship."
Justin Cooper led
laps in
Arlington and finished on the po
-
dium in two of the three races.
His
2-3-6 finishes earned him
fourth overall.
