BY RYAN NITZEN PHOTOGRAPHY BROWNDOG WILSON A naheim 1 is the most an- ticipated race of the year. As the 2025 year begins, the Supercross season opener brings all the hype, the nerves and the unpredictability that only A1 can. While many picked Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan as the odds-on favorites to win, neither of the defending Super - Motocross Champions even made it on the podium. Instead, Chase Sexton and Jo Shimoda struck first and claimed their first career A1 victories. Sexton looks like he's got a point to prove. After a lacklus - ter 2024 Supercross campaign, Sexton is back for a second year with the factory Red Bull KTM team and looking to find the same speed that earned him the 2023 championship. He started the night with a heat race win and later was up front again in the main event, rounding the first lap inside the top five.
