VOLUME 62 ISSUE 1 JANUARY 7, 2025 P77
Teams
It's business as usual for the
Honda HRC Progressive Team
as they field the same four-man
roster for 2025. Both Jett (1)
and Hunter Lawrence (96) are
entering their sophomore sea
-
sons in the 450SX class, while
Jo
Shimoda (30) and Chance
Hymas (10) share the 250SX
coasts, with West and East, re
-
spectively. Jett is the defending
450SX
Champion, but don't for-
get about Hunter, who finished
second in the Pro
Motocross
Championship and also second
in the SMX Playoffs.
The Monster Energy Star
Racing Yamaha squad is the
largest team in the paddock,
with four full-time 450 riders
and seven 250 riders. Cooper
Webb (2) returns to action
after finishing second in the
2024 450SX points and will
adorn new Fly Racing gear in
2025. Eli Tomac (3) also lines
up for '25 in what most likely
will be his final professional
season. He's stayed busy this
off-season and kept his tools
sharp by winning the four-race
WSX Championship. Justin
Cooper (32) enters his sec
-
ond 450 season with the Star
Racing
team and sports a new
kit of HJC Helmets, Oakley
goggles, O'Neal gear and
Alpinestars boots. Christian
Craig (28) is the fourth 450
rider and returns to the same
team in which he won his only
250SX Championship. The
likeable veteran is in a bit of a
hybrid role, as he's a full-time
racer, along with being Haiden
Deegan's trainer.
Three riders will compete
for Star Racing on the West
Coast circuit. Two-time SMX
champ Haiden Deegan (38) is
back for his third professional
season and looks to add the
elusive Supercross title to his
resume. He's joined by Mi
-
chael Mosiman (93) and New
Zealand native
Cole Davies
(100), who is set to make his
professional debut at A1.
On the East, you will find
the other four Yamaha racers.
Nate Thrasher (41) and Dax-
ton Bennick (34) return to the
team, while
Max Anstie (31)
starts his first year with the
"BluCru." Pierce Brown (20)
also made the switch to blue
after winning the final round
of the SMX playoffs with the
now-defunct Troy Lee Designs
GasGas team.
Monster Energy Kawasaki
is fielding two riders in the
450 class. Former 450SX
Champion Jason Anderson
(21) is back with Team Green
for his final year under his cur-
rent contract. No changes to
Anderson's
gear as he contin-
ues in his usual Airoh helmet,
Scott goggles
and Alpinestars
kit and boots.
The team's big news is the
signing of two-time and reign-
ing MXGP Champion Jorge
Prado.
Prado is the biggest
signing of the off-season and
he makes the full-time jump
to the USA with the Monster
Energy Kawasaki squad after
competing in the first four
rounds of the 2024 season
one year ago. Look for the
number 70 machine in full Fox
Racing kit head-to-toe.
