Ricky Johnson made the cover 40 years ago for winning the Japan
Supercross over Johnny O'Mara, David Bailey and Broc Glover. Also
pictured on the front page was Chris Crandall who piloted an ATK
to a surprise victory at the Barstow-to-Vegas desert race. Scot
Harden finished three minutes later for second and Mike Baker was
awarded third after Chuck Pettigrew was DQ'd… We covered the
