Waters Takes Record Fourth ASBK Crown J osh Waters has secured a his- toric fourth Australian Super- bike Championship title following an intense final round of the 2024 mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Champion - ship (ASBK), presented by Motul, at The Bend in South Australia on November 10. Entering the third and final race at The Bend, Waters (Mc - Martin Racing Ducati) led his closest rival, Mike Jones (Yama- ha Racing Team), by 25 points. When Jones crashed on the first lap, Waters' path to the title became assured—even a race retirement wouldn't have denied him the championship. Despite this, Waters pushed on, ending the race less than a second behind outgoing cham - pion Troy Herfoss (DesmoSport Ducati), who took the third race victory of the weekend. With this 2024 championship, Waters adds to his previous ASBK titles from 2009, 2012 and 2017. This victory marks a redemption for Waters at The Bend after narrowly missing out on the title to Herfoss in a dramatic final round in 2023. Waters now stands as the most successful rider in the ASBK Championship's 35-year history, surpassing three-time champions like Jones, Herfoss, Shawn Giles, Wayne Maxwell and Glenn Allerton. "That was bloody awesome! I'm so grateful to the McMar - tin Racing Team, and I'm just thrilled—it's been a long time since I last won a championship," Waters said with relief. "Each championship has been special, but what I went through leading up to this one makes it even more meaningful. Thank you to everyone who supports me." Waters completed the seven- round championship with 321.5 points, with Jones holding onto second place at 276.5 points, fol - lowed by Broc Pearson (Desmo- Sport Ducati) in third with 264.5 points. Sherco Unveils 2025 Trials Bikes S herco updated its 2025 line of 125, 250 and 300 ST-F Factory trials bikes. These updates include a new design/graphics, a plastic insert in the piston to decompress the crankcase, thus softening the bike's character and adding inertia, a new reed-valve box, a new overflow hose for optimized water drainage, and a new ignition cover gasket for improved sealing. Updates exclusively to the 250 and 300 in - clude new mapping to soften engine response, increase inertia, and enhance the contrast be- tween hard and soft modes, with even smooth- er delivery in soft mode, and a new exhaust elbow to reduce engine braking.
