Rea Wins Champion's Charity Race at EICMA

onathan Rea has taken his
first victory for Yamaha,
although it hasn't come in the
WorldSBK Championship, as
everyone expected.
Instead, Rea triumphed at
the Champion's Charity event at
the EICMA Show in Milan on a
Yamaha YZ450F over Supermoto
World Championship rider Elia
Sammartin and British Superbike
star Ryan Vickers.
The Champion's Charity race
saw such legends as two-time
MotoGP World Champion Casey
Stoner make a soft racing return
on a Beta two-stroke, former
WorldSBK Champions Carlos
Checa and Troy Bayliss, and also
Marco Melandri, Stefan Everts,
Joel Smets, Randy Mamola and
Loris Capirossi.
All money raised was donated
by EICMA to the ABIO-Associ

ation Children's Hospital and
Riders4Riders. This non-profit
organization raises funds to
support seriously injured rid
-
ers and research on spinal cord
injuries.
