Developed over nearly five years, the Idaho-
based Klim team optimized the aerodynamics,
weight distribution, noise reduction and intuitive
functionality of the brand-new X1 Alpha adventure
helmet. Its carbon-fiber shell is equipped with Koroyd
head-protection technology that disperses and
absorbs impacts. Cutouts in the comfort liner and
in the shell's EPS layer direct airflow from the front
vents through the Koroyd welded tubes and flush
heat out through the large rear exhaust vents. The
sides of the shell are shaped for accommodating
a communication system, and the X1 Alpha's
faceshield has optical Class 1 clarity, HD vision, UV
protection and new infrared heat shielding.
