The new Rockstar
Energy/GasGas
Factory Racing Team
is now official.
Casey Cochran
has joined the new
Rockstar Energy/
GasGas Factory
Racing Team, and
Sean Murphy (right)
will be the team's
manager.
I
t's been widely understood
that the GasGas Factory
Racing Team and Rock-
star Energy will unite for
the 2025 SuperMotocross
World Championship. Now
it's official.
Troy Lee Designs had
previously run the factory
GasGas effort, but it will
now be run in-house with
title sponsor Rockstar
Energy.
"Rockstar Energy is
excited to officially partner
with the GasGas team for
the 2025 season, expand
-
ing our footprint in Super-
Motocross and further
deepening our connection
to the sport," said Steve
Mateus, director of sports
marketing, PepsiCo.
As far as team details,
the Rockstar Energy Gas
-
Gas Factory Racing Team
has just signed Casey
Cochran and will compete
alongside returning GasGas
riders Justin Barcia and
Ryder DiFrancesco. The
GasGas/Rockstar squad
will be led by the newly
appointed Team Manager,
Sean Murphy.
Cochran and DiFran
-
cesco will compete in the
250cc class, including the
2025 SuperMotocross
World Championship. The
veteran, Barcia, will be the
team's sole 450cc rider
once again.
"I'm super-stoked to join
the Rockstar Energy Gas
-
Gas Factory Racing Team
for the 2025 season," Co-
chran said. "With so many
familiar faces around, espe-
cially having been a Rock-
star athlete since my early
amateur career, the transi-
tion has been seamless.
I am excited to have new
teammates I can learn from and
build fresh relationships with as
we gear up for Supercross. The
crew we have is incredible, and
the bike is feeling great."
"I am extremely excited to
accept the role of team man
-
ager for the Rockstar Energy
GasGas Factory Racing Team
and be part of this new team
partnership between two iconic
brands," said Murphy. "The
Rockstar Energy brand means
a lot to our racing family, and
we couldn't be more grateful to
have them onboard for the 2024
SMX Championship season. I
got to see Casey's talent and
great potential firsthand last
year, and I'm excited to see him
thrive with riders like Justin and
Ryder."
