Illustrations of Gary Scott, the subject of our interview, was featured on the cover of Cycle News 50 years ago... We had full race coverage of the Hook and Ladder Enduro in California City, California. The Pasadena Fire Department organized the popular enduro... We also had coverage of the Trans-AMA MX Series from the Orlando Sports Stadium in Florida. Gerrit Wolsink took the overall win. Marty Smith won the 250cc class ahead of Kent Howerton and Ron Pomeroy... We reviewed the BMW R90S, which sold for $3695. YEARS AGO NOVEMBER , P128 LOOKING BACK I Our Can-Am 175 ASE test bike was featured in action on the cover 40 years ago... Kent Howerton won his second Superbikers race at Carlsbad Raceway... Indian Dunes hosted the final round of the CMC Trans-Cal MX Series. Johnny O'Mara won both the 125cc and 250cc Championships, and Mike Larson took the 500cc title... The race for the number-one plate in the longest AMA GNC season ever came down to the final race, the Springfield Mile. The title went to Ricky Graham by one point over Bubba Shobert. YEARS AGO NOVEMBER , Vincent Haskovec (3) won the Formula USA Superbike final in Florida but Robert Jensen (52) took the title.
