When the chips are down, that's
when a champion shows his
mettle, and so it was that Fran-
cesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo
Team) clinched a critical wet-
weather victory under extreme
pressure in Thailand.

Bagnaia followed him through,

his title lead by 22 points.
At the start, Bagnaia launched
from pole to lead into turn one,
but Martin quickly attacked,

to slip through. Martin then
dropped further as Pedro Acosta
(Red Bull GasGas Tech3) passed
him, only to crash shortly after,
his sixth race crash in a row.
Regaining his rhythm, Martin
overtook Marquez with a slick
move at the final corner and set
his sights on Bagnaia.
The top trio—Bastianini, Bag

packed on track, with Martin

turn seven, though not with

out a track-limits warning. The
chase intensified, with Bagnaia
pressing to regain second, but
Martin managed to fend him off,
flirting as close as he dared to
track limits but not triggering the
sensors and what would be a
disastrous long-lap penalty.
In the closing laps, Bastianini
held his lead, while Martin, under
intense pressure from Bagnaia,
defended his position and took
second. Bagnaia finished third,
conceding further ground in the
title race.
Marc Marquez claimed fourth,
unable to match the top three's
pace in the final laps, while his
teammate and brother Alex
Marquez rounded out the top
five. Franco Morbidelli (Prima

"Today we were the quickest on track,
so the result cannot be satisfactory,"
Marquez said. "There was no way to
overtake Pecco: I tried it in the safest
way possible, but it was easy to make
a mistake in these conditions. We did
make a mistake, and despite that, we
ended up 11th. Then, from the back
of the field, I had a lot to do in order to
score some points, but we managed
to do so. Now it is time for Malaysia, a
track where we're likely to struggle."
