E1 (250cc two- and four-stroke) and 19th among all Trophy riders. In Junior World Trophy (JWT), Sweden—with the same three rid - ers (Max Ahlin, Albin Norrbin and Axel Semb) as last year—waited a full year to avenge its loss on the final day in Argentina. As before, the Swedes dominated from the first day and sealed their sixth championship in the category with a stirring triumph in the final JWT moto by Norrbin—something he's dreamed about since his bike quit in last year's final moto, dropping his team from first to third. "It feels great to be back and managing to take the win here in Spain," he said. "It's been a difficult week with all the rain, especially [on the last day]—it's been a mess—but I'm happy to take the holeshot and pull [the final moto win] off." The U.S. JWT team of Grant Davis, Mateo Oliveira and Ja - overall among all Trophy riders. "Watching all these [top Europeans] is humbling but also motivating to improve my riding," Toth said. "There's just so much you can pick up and learn. Some of the stuff, you can't really take it back to the States for our style of racing, which, I think, kind of hinders us [in the ISDE] and kind of goes away, and you forget that stuff a little bit." A last-minute addition to the team to fill in for the injured Craig DeLong, Barnes also felt like he had something to prove after a mechanical issue took him out on the first day of his second Six Days in 2022. "I'm just pumped to be here, honestly," he said. "With a week's notice phone call, I didn't meet all the goals I had for myself, but with the preparation that I had, I think it went well." Barnes ended up seventh in the "In general, the most difficult [challenge] of the week was the [rainy] weather—the weather was very crazy," Garcia said, adding that the extra days compared to an EnduroGP weekend definitely put him out of his comfort zone. American efforts to defend the Chamberlin Trophy earned last year fell short, despite win - ning the sixth day's WT team standings. For Toth, who's been to the Six Days eight times as a Club rider as well as a member of the Trophy teams over the years, taking honors as fastest American of the week vindicated the decision to include last year's fastest overall Club rider on this year's WT team. "I felt like I should've been on the [WT] team last year com - ing into it, so it's good to have kind of something to prove," he said before finishing fourth in E2 (450cc four-stroke) and 10th OCTOBER 14-19, 2024 SILLEDA, SPAIN OFF-ROAD I 98TH NOCO FIM INTERNATIONAL SIX DAYS ENDURO P82 Spanish star Josep Garcia capped off his EnduroGP championship year by taking top overall individual honors for the fourth time, with Spain landing on the podium in third. (Right) From left, Axel Semb, Albin Norrbin and Max Ahlin celebrate their JWT win for Sweden—sweet if delayed justice after dominating last year's Six Days only to lose when Norrbin's bike broke while leading the final moto, dropping them to third. No such bad luck this year, and Norrbin even won the final moto in Spain. (Below right) Like many of his teammates, Josh Toth had both good and less-than-good moments throughout the week, though last year's top Club rider helped the defending champ U.S. WT team to second behind France. In addition, he had the fastest American time of the week, putting him 10th overall individually among all WT/JWT riders.
