M
arc Marquez (Gresini Ducati)
loves Phillip Island but even he
could be forgiven for being sur-
prised at his latest race win.
The eight-time World Champion fluffed
the start, smoking off the line when his
tear-off got stuck under his tire, but then
we saw why he's one of the greatest
with a methodical march through the
field, hunting down Jorge Martin (Prima
Pramac Ducati) to take his third race win
in Gresini blue. Current number-one Fran
-
cesco Bagnaia lost more crucial ground
in the title race by finishing third.
In Moto2, Fermin Aldeguer (Beta Tools
SpeedUp) pulled one of the best last-lap
passes you'll ever see on the hapless
Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) to take the
race win, with home hero Senna Agius
(Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) taking
a fine first podium in third.
