Bautista 356 and Petrucci 291. WorldSSP The penultimate Superpole Qualifying session of the season was wet, although it started in nearly dry conditions. Yari Mon- tella (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) took pole position for race one, which was itself start- ed in dry conditions. He would romp away from the chasing pack, despite Adrian Huertas (Aruba Racing Ducati) qualifying second and Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) starting in third place. Eventually, Huertas would come through in race one, but he had to fight himself free in the early laps. as Razgatlioglu crossed the line for win number 17 of the season. Bulega took second as his teammate Bautista was first passed—not easily—then kept behind to help keep the rookie's slim championship hopes a little bit more alive. Bulega almost fell after a big back-end slide fishtail under power, but he held it together to the end. Rea had a great ride to fourth, albeit 12 seconds down on To - prak over a 21-lap race, but this was his best combined week- end so far, even after taking a podium at Donington in July. In the championship points, with one weekend to go at Jerez, Razgatlioglu has 473, Bulega 427, glu on the run to the flag after the long final right-hand corner. Even with Razgatlioglu squeezing him to the pit wall, Bulega just nosed in front for a winning margin of just three- thousandths of a second. With the top four fixed, Pe - trucci was fifth (and top Indy rider), with Lowes in sixth. Race two looked like it may be more of a struggle for Razgatlio- glu, but he finally got clear of Bulega and then-leader Bautista to make a break and take a win with a gap from the rest that was finally recorded as 3.866 seconds. In reality, it should have been more like 5.5 seconds, were it not for the longest stand-up wheelie we've seen in some time ROUND 11 / OCTOBER 11-13, 2024 CIRCUIT ESTORIL / ESTORIL, PORTUGAL ROAD RACE I FIM WORLDSBK CHAMPIONSHIP P76 With the two wins in Portugal, Razgatlioglu is sitting pretty to win his second WorldSBK title and first for BMW.
