T
he Motocross of Nations is a race
unlike any other. For the 77th run-
ning of the historic event, the pic-
turesque hillsides of England's Matterley
Basin set the stage for the world's best
racers. Team Australia—comprised of
Jett Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence and Kyle
Webster—racked up the lowest combined
score of the day with 26 points, coming
out on top for the first time ever for
Team Australia. After finishing third and
second in the past two showings, the
Aussies finally get the honor of taking
home the Chamberlain Trophy.
Despite an 11th-hour team, the Ameri-
cans still wanted a shot at the world
stage. With 29 points, they finished a close
second, just three points shy of the overall
win. The Dutchmen of the Netherlands
held the top spot for most of the day but
finished a distant third with 36 points.
