resents a significant blow for
Aprilia, that confirmed Fabiano
Sterlacchini, formerly of Ducati
and KTM, as his replacement.
Current riders Maverick Vinales
and Raul Fernandez were shocked
and even downcast due to Albe

siano's departure. "It's difficult
for me because I have a good
relationship with Romano," said
Fernandez. "I think he worked well
in Aprilia. He's one of the people
who most improved this project,
so for me, it's disappointing."
Yet Jorge Martin attempted
to maintain a positive outlook. "I
feel everybody in Aprilia is happy,"
he said. "So, I think, will be a big
change and a good change for
us. Also, I think Fabiano has a
lot of experience with Ducati and
KTM, so will give a lot of know-
how to Aprilia, so, will be good."

Pearson Takes His First ASBK Overall
D
esmoSport Ducati's Broc Pear-
son secured his first overall
victory in the Australian Superbike
Championship during round six
of the 2024 season at Goulburn's
One Raceway, October 5-6.
Battling strong crosswinds,
Pearson's 1-3 finishes in the two
Pirelli Superbike races stood out,
keeping him in the championship
race heading into the grand finale
at The Bend on November 8-10.
Pearson now sits on 219.5
points, trailing former ASBK
champions Josh Waters (Mc
-
Martin Racing Ducati, 256.5
points) and Mike Jones (Yama-
ha Racing Team, 229.5 points).
Jones claimed victory in race
two at One Raceway, but Pear
-
son's consistency proved key on
a day when several top contend-
ers failed to finish.
"It's been an exciting and fun
weekend for the team," Pearson
said. "We've been at the front of
the pack and secured a round
win. It's another milestone, lead
-
ing from start to finish in race
one and capping it off with a
third in race two."
Jones finished second overall
at round six with his 8-1 results,
followed by Waters (5-2) and
Arthur Sissis (Stop and Seal
Yamaha, 6-4).
