The gearbox has been
updated with longer fifth and
sixth gears for more fuel-
efficient freeway cruising, and
the gearbox's quickshifter
now works at 1500 rpm, 1000
rpm lower than in 2023.
Chassis and electronics
see little changes.
Like the Kawasaki Ninja
1100SX ABS, the Versys will
get the larger 1099cc motor
for 2025 with a few tweaks of
its own.
The new motor's stroke has
been increased by 3mm to
59mm while keeping the bore
at 77mm, and the compres
-
sion ratio has also been
raised to 11.8:1 from 10.3:1.
New cams reduce valve
lift, and the middle two intake
funnels are 45mm longer than
the outer ones for better in-
take flow velocity. Combined
with updated ECU settings,
torque delivery is boosted
between 4000 and 7000 rpm.
Torque peaks at 82.6 lb-ft
at 7600 rpm, a seven lb-ft
increase over the 2024 model.
Other key updates include a
heavier flywheel, a secondary
balancer, and new connector
pipes between the exhaust
headers. The transmission
has been revised by dropping
a tooth on the rear sprocket
to 42 teeth. The quickshifter
functions at 1500 rpm instead
of 2500 rpm on the 2024 bike.
The Versys also receives
a larger 260mm rear brake
disc and a new bar-mounted
USB-C port.
The Versys 1100 SE LT ABS
will sell for $19,499 MSRP
and is expected to be avail
-
able by winter 2025.
