Bou Clinches FIM X-Trial World Championship R epsol Honda's Toni Bou sealed a new World title in the indoor X-Trial series in Andorra on October 5. With two rounds left in the 2024 season, Bou added to his extensive list of achievements and is the most successful trials rider in history with his 36th title overall. This year, the Montesa Cota 4RT rider has so far racked up a total of five consecutive victories in the 2024 X-Trial World Champi - onship. Since Bou began compet- ing with the Repsol Honda Team in 2007, he has earned 18 titles in a row in the indoor discipline. In his career, Bow has 19 Trials of Nations wins with Spain and 18 titles in the TrialGP World Cham - pionship, the last of which was achieved just a month ago. Bou has also achieved a total of 84 victories in 111 events, with 97 po - diums in the X-Trial Championship. Going into the third and final lap, Bou trailed GasGas Factory rider Jaime Busto by four points. He got those four points back, match- ing Busto's points tally after all three laps. By winning the final lap, Bou won out on the tiebreaker. Bou's teammate Gabriel Mar- celli was third overall, followed by Sherco's Adam Raga and Montesa rider Toby Martyn. "It has been a very special day," Bou said. "Winning the title here is incredible for us. We struggled a lot, we didn't feel good, and we had a crash in zone one on the opening lap. Then we started the second lap badly, but we managed to qualify. Then, in the final, on the last part, we were at our best. Being able to win on the last zone, winning the race and the title is a dream come true for me." With two rounds still to go, Bou has an unsurmountable 106 championship points. Busto and Marcelli are tied for second with 68 points apiece. Martin is hold - ing down fourth place, 28 points down on Marcelli. CN OVERALL (Top 5) 1. Toni Bou (Mon) 2. Jaime Busto (GG) 3.
