Moto3 How good is David Alonso (Aspar CFMoto)? Well, the Colombian took yet another victory when, he later revealed, that wasn't even the aim. The 18-year-old's weekend had been complicated by a Friday morn- ing highside. Yet as the laps ticked by, he got closer to the front and pounced on Adrian Fernandez (Leopard Honda) and David Munoz (BOE KTM) just when it mattered for a ninth suc- cess of the season. Alonso's day was already looking rosy when Collin Veijer (IntactGP Husqvarna) crashed out of the lead at turn eight after heading the pack for the first when he dropped from third to ninth. He recaught the fight for third late on, and while able to dispense with Manuel Gonzalez (Gresini Kalex) and Darryn Bind - er (IntactGP Kalex), he couldn't pass teammate Lopez. In another pivotal day for the championship, MSI Boscoscu- ro's Sergio Garcia (166 points) crashed out of 10th on lap 16, meaning Ogura's (208) lead is up to 42 points. Canet is now tied with Lopez (156) for third, 52 back. The Spaniard was aided early on by SpeedUp Boscoscuro teammates Alonso Lopez and Fermin Aldeguer, Ai Ogura (MSI Boscoscuro) and Jake Dixon (Aspar Kalex) fighting among themselves. At the same time, possible challenger Tony Arbo - lino was as low as 22nd on lap one after running off track at turn 10. Yet even when Ogura took control of the fight for second on lap 12, he was over six seconds back of Canet and nowhere near as fast. He rightly motioned to silence the critics on the slow-down lap. Ogura was a comfortable second, while Aldeguer was left to pay for an erratic lap eight, ROUND 15 / SEPTEMBER 27-29, 2024 PERTAMINA MANDALIKA CIRCUIT / INDONESIA ROAD RACE I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P96 Aron Canet led from start to finish in Moto2, winning by more than six seconds.
