Hare of the Dogs
Some of the top off-road racers in the
world lined up for the start of an AMA
Hare Scrambles in 1986. It was a year of
back-and-forth battling that included,
among others, Aussie Geoff Ballard (on the
Can-Am), Mark Hyde (on the Husqvarna),
and Ed Lojak (left, without a helmet). The
three were all within a few points of each
other for the championship lead at the
final round. Hyde came out on top.
