VOLUME ISSUE OCTOBER , P73 Baz's pace was substantial, one that Herrin couldn't sustain. He dropped steadily back to an even- tual sixth place, leaving Baz to fend for himself. Sean Dylan Kelly was having a much better second race than Saturday's opener and closed right up to Baz, with Fong keeping a watching brief in third. However, the former WorldSBK and MotoGP rider Baz's speed through the final three corners was unmatched, and he held on for the first Ducati double Super - bike win weekend since the Mo- rounded out by Petersen, Sean Dylan Kelly (EasyHealthPlans. com/ TopPro Racing BMW), Fores, Benjamin Smith (Flow4Law Racing Yamaha), Ashton Yates (Jones Honda) and Bryce Prince (BPR Yamaha). Race two would be another Ducati benefit but not in the way everyone expected. Baz and Herrin made the early running, the former shielded by the latter as he tried to win his first race in 11 years and his first on American soil. (Left) Herrin hits the front and tries to break the pack in race one. He didn't succeed but still came away with the win. (Below) Cameron Petersen leads the Superbike field away in race one.
