finale. The Star Racing Yamaha
rider put in two quiet yet solid
results for the night, fighting
inside the top five during both
motos. A third in the night's
final race pushed him to third
overall, beating out Tom Vialle
and Jo Shimoda, with whom he
battled in the opening race. This
marks Smith's best result of the
Playoffs and bumps him to fifth
overall with $50,000 in the bank.
"It feels good to be back on
the podium and to put in some
solid rides," Smith said. "We
